The Profit Sharing Council was created to provide educational and networking opportunities for members, to foster a greater understanding of the value of profit sharing plans and 401(K) accounts to member companies and their employees, and to encourage and support the continuing professional development of the dedicated practitioners in the retirement planning field.

If you are currently a member of the Profit Sharing 401(K) Council of Alabama we encourage you to use this site as a reference point for Council activities and meetings. If you have not yet become a member we encourage you to download a membership application and submit your information to the Council at the earliest possible opportunity. Final Service Provider Fee Disclosure Regulation: Are You Ready Now?

 

Jay Turner will present on the final regulation regarding service provider fee disclosures under Section

408(b)(2) of ERISA at the February 21, 2012 meeting of the Alabama Profit Sharing/401(k) Council. Jay

will walk us through the regulation, highlighting the information “covered service providers” are required

to provide to “responsible plan fiduciaries” and noting the changes from the prior “interim final”

regulation. He will also describe how responsible plan fiduciaries can effectively interpret the disclosures

and communicate them to plan participants.

 

Jay Turner is an attorney with the law firm of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP. Jay has devoted his

entire legal career to representing employers in employee benefits matters. He has extensive experience

counseling clients in the development of employee benefit programs, drafting plan documents, and

representing employers before the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor. He applies his

technical expertise to bring practical solutions to his clients.
